Bio

Cheng YANG (b. 1998, Changzhou, Jiangsu, China) is an artist, researcher and a PhD candidate in Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong. She holds an MA in Computational Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a BFA in Multimedia Art Design from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Her arts-based research explores the interconnections between ecology and cultural heritage, examining how traditions, materials, and human-nature relationships evolve. Working across installation, sound, and media art, she is increasingly interested in exploring the dialogue between traditional crafts (e.g., paper crafting and Chinese paper cutting) and new media technologies.
